Road construction in Ukraine is among top priorities - President

“Repair and construction of road in Ukraine is among the top priorities for me. And this is a concern for an absolute majority of Ukrainians,” Poroshenko said in festivities on the occasion of opening Istanbul Park in Odesa.

The President also plans to see the first results of his experiment on allocation of half of unscheduled revenue from customs duties for reconstruction of roads in Ukraine.

According to the Head of State, more than 88 million hryvnias were allocated to the road construction over the past year. At the same time, only in the first four months of this year, Ukrainian customs has already allocated more than 4 billion hryvnias for roads. “And when Odesa region, instead of PR, started working, its customs has provided 1 billion 200 million hryvnias. This figure indicates that road construction in Odesa region will be finally restored,” the President said.

Petro Poroshenko is confident that this is the result of fruitful and effective teamwork of all state bodies and local authorities.
