Minsk agreements under threat due to Russian aggression - Tusk

Russia has put implementation of the Minsk agreements at risk due to its aggression in eastern Ukraine.

This has been stated by President of the European Council Donald Tusk on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels.

"We are again reminded of challenges launched by Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine, as well as a threat to the implementation of the Minsk agreements. The fighting must be stopped immediately. The ceasefire must be observed. Russia must exert its influence on separatists, so that they stop fighting," Tusk said about the escalation of situation in Avdiyivka.

He underlined the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Avdiyivka.

The President of the European Council stressed the need for the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the region of escalation and to ensure the full access for the OSCE members.
