The Netherlands to extend negotiations on Ukraine’s association for another six weeks

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said this in his letter to the parliament, NOS Dutch news portal informs.

"This process requires much more time than many people in the Netherlands would like," he said.

As noted, the Dutch Government believes that the ratification of the agreement is still possible, and there is sufficient support for the negotiations.

"Although there have been no formal agreements, the government believes that such a goal is achievable," Rutte noted.

The purpose of the negotiations, which will last next six weeks, is to clearly identify that the association agreement does not lead to Ukraine's membership in the EU, does not provide for free movement of labor force in the European market, and there are no issues of cooperation in the military and financial assistance.
