Deputy Minister of Information Policy Popova steps down

Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Tetyana Popova has resigned, she has written on her Facebook.

"I’m leaving the government. I oppose the attacks on journalists and freedom of speech launched by some politicians and political organizations. I cannot accept lack of due reactions to these attacks," wrote the official.

According to Popova, she is stepping down in protest and she will "continue to defend the ideas of the Maidan, freedom and democracy as a citizen and volunteer."
