Verkhovna Rada increases December’s raise in social standards

Ukrainian MPs have approved amendments to the 2016 budget regarding social standards and the amount of subventions on the provision of benefits and housing subsidies

A total of 249 lawmakers voted in favor of this decision, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The draft law offers to increase the rates of raising the amount of social standards from December 1, 2016 to UAH 1,600 against UAH 1,550, foreseen in the budget,” reads an explanatory note to the document.

“From December 1, 2016, the subsistence minimum on one person counting on the month will be raised from UAH 1,399 to UAH 1,544; for children under 6 years – from UAH 1,228 to UAH 1,355; for children aged 6 to 18 years – from UAH 1,531 to UAH 1, 689; for able-bodied persons – from UAH 1,450 to UAH 1,600; for persons who lost capacity for work – from UAH 1,130 to UAH 1, 247,” reads the documents.
