The United States has called on Russia to immediately release Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko, who is on a “dry” hunger strike without water to protest against her unlawful detention in Russia, as well as other political captives kept in this country.

Permanent Representative of the United States to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Ambassador Daniel Baer said this in a statement at a meeting of the Permanent OSCE Council in Vienna, own Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The United States once again is calling on the Russian Federation to immediately release all Ukrainian political prisoners kept in Russia. We are still very concerned about the issue of Nadiya Savchenko and we urge the Russian Federation to release her as soon as possible," the US diplomat said.
