Poroshenko hopes for responsible choice of the Netherlands

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has expressed the hope that the people of the Netherlands will show a reasonable and responsible approach to the consultative referendum on the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement scheduled for April 6.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this in Washington on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"It is important that the market with 45 million population is opened for the Dutch and all European manufacturers. We expect the effective and responsible choice of the Dutch people on April 6," the President said.

At the same time, he expressed his absolute confidence that "the European integration and the implementation of our association agreement with the EU will not be stopped and will not be in danger because of this initiative."

Poroshenko also commented on the results of the meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in Washington. In this regard, he stressed that "complete mutual understanding and complete trust between Ukraine and the Netherlands were confirmed."
