Ukraine drawing up note of protest against Russia over Heraschenko’s ban from entering its territory

The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine is drawing up a note of protest against Russia over the ban from entering Russia’s territory that was issued to MP Iryna Heraschenko, a PACE member and the Ukrainian presidential envoy for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbas.

“I’ve informed Foreign Minister [Pavlo] Klimkin on the situation, the Foreign Ministry is drawing up a note of protest,” Heraschenko said.
MP Iryna Heraschenko has been banned from entering Russia at the Chertkovo-Melovoye border check point. According to the documents, the reason why the Ukrainian MP has been banned from entering the country is a threat to Russia’s security. The prohibition has been issued for the term of five years.
Ukrainian MPs Mariya Ionova and Iryna Lutsenko have arrived in Donetsk Court in Rostov-on-Don region, where today at 11 a.m. the sentence to Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko is to be passed.
