Klimkin leaves for Istanbul to get ready for Strategic Council sitting

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin today, on January 29, is paying an official visit to Istanbul, Turkey, the foreign ministry’s press service reports. 

“The purpose of his visit is preparations for the fifth sitting of the High Level Strategic Council under the chairmanship of Presidents of Ukraine and Turkey,” according to the report.

During the meeting Klimkin is planning to discuss the development of situation in eastern Ukraine in the scope of the Minsk agreements implementation, the Crimea’s annexation by Russia, the issue of Crimean Tatars human rights protection, the state of bilateral relations, in particular, trade and economic cooperation, the cooperation of countries as part of international organizations, and the ways of security provision in the Black Sea region and adjoining regions.
