The EU is united in the implementation of sanctions, and it will not sacrifice its principles for the sake of Russia.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said this in her address to the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"We managed to negotiate in Europe to work together. We jointly implemented sanctions, and we will not allow Russia violating our principles," Merkel said.
She added that the EU in its general security policy must act decisively in preventing and ending conflicts.
