Shokin appointed as Prosecutor General

KYIV, February 10 /Ukrinform/. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved the appointment of Viktor Shokin as Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
318 deputies have voted for this decision.
Earlier, the Parliament approved dismissal of Prosecutor General Vitaliy Yarema.
Since June 26, 2014, Shokin was the deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
Shokin opened proceedings against General Oleksiy Pukach over the murder of journalist Georgiy Gongadze.
