NSDC says Medvedchuk not representing Ukraine at peace plan talks

KYIV, June 24 /Ukrinform/. The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) cannot say what Ukrainian Choice public movement leader Viktor Medvedchuk does at negotiations between Ukrainian representative Leonid Kuchma and terrorists.
NSDC information center spokesman Volodymyr Chepovy said this at a briefing at Ukrinform on Tuesday.
"This is not the Ukrainian side," he said, when commenting on Medvedchuk's role in the talks.
Chepovy also could not explain whom Nestor Shufrych represents. "Second Ukrainian President [Leonid] Kuchma represents the Ukrainian side in the work of the trilateral contact group," he said.
Chepovy promised soon to provide official information about the status of Medvechuk and Shufrych at the negotiations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is the godfather of Medvedchuk's daughter.
