KYIV, March 20 /Ukrinform/. Ukrainian MPs have voted for a Verkhovna Rada statement on the guarantees of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people within Ukraine. This document also recognizes Crimean Tatars as an indigenous people within Ukraine.

A total of 284 MPs voted for a respective decision on Thursday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to the resolution, Ukraine recognizes the Mejlis and Kurultai as governing bodies of the Crimean Tatar people.
