Fined Femen activists planned protest against Putin
KYIV, July 29 /Ukrinform/. Three activists of the radical feminist movement Femen and a Russian photographer, who had been fined in Kyiv on Sunday for disorderly conduct, on Saturday planned a protest against Russian President Vladimir Putin, Radio Liberty/Radio Free Europe reported.
"We were planning to protest against the visit of Putin, which was to be called "Putin, go to hell”. At a time when Femen activists, and photographer Dmitry Kostyukov got out of the front door and headed for the taxi, they were attacked by a group of unknowns who beat them and dragged into a car," said the leader of the movement Hanna Hutsol.
This is not the first attack on Femen activists and supporters. Late on Wednesday an unknown in the city center near the office of the organization severely beat Femen analyst Viktor Sviatsky. The women's movement linked the beating of Sviatsky to the attempts of secret services to prevent protests during the celebration of the 1,025th anniversary of the Christianization of Kievan Rus.
