New UN Secretary General intends to visit Ukraine in near future – Gerashchenko

First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Gerashchenko informed this on Facebook, commenting on the results of yesterday's meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka in the Verkhovna Rada.

"The UN Under-Secretary-General informed that the new UN Secretary General plans to visit Ukraine in the near future. By the way, the gender equality issue is defined as the key priority of the work of Antonio Guterres," Gerashchenko wrote.

In addition, she noted that new UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict will be appointed in July.
