Propagandists spread a forged electricity bill

Russian media outlets, Telegram channels, and public pages on the VKontakte social network have recently begun to actively share photos of electricity bills allegedly received by residents of Dnipro. It follows that the Ukrainians were urged to reduce the time they use household appliances such as an electric stove, oven, kettle, microwave oven, hair dryer, washing machine, iron, and vacuum cleaner. This will allegedly prevent the enemy from taking the Ukrainians by surprise. The bill itself was designed in the DTEK style and contains the company's logo.

It is fake. By zooming in on the text in the photo, you can see that next to the DTEK logo is the inscription "DTEK Kyiv Regional Electric Networks."

This institution provides services only to clients in the Kyiv region, and the company "DTEK Dnipro Electric Networks" provides services to residents of Dnipro.

Representatives of DTEK Dnipro Electric Networks told Ukrinform that according to the law "On the Electric Energy Market," since January 1, 2019, energy services have been provided to customers by two different companies - the distribution system operator "DTEK Dnipro Electric Networks" and the supplier company "YASNO."

Therefore, the supplier is responsible for tariffs, calculations, consumed electricity, creating bills, and accepting payments.

YASNO, in turn, reported that the "bill" circulated by the propagandists had nothing to do with them, as the company did not send such bills in Dnipro.

Russian propaganda likes manipulating documents. Earlier, they spread reports that all employees of the Kharkiv subway were allegedly being prepared to be mobilized and sent to the front lines.
