Propagandists used a news report of Norwegian television, changing its content to the opposite

Russian Telegram channels shared a post claiming that tanks with Russian Z and V symbols were spotted in Israel. To confirm this, they published a screenshot of a news report from the Norwegian VGTV, which allegedly said this.

As it turned out, the information about Israel's involvement in the use of the Russian symbols is fake. In the news report used by Russians, on the contrary, it is said that the symbols spotted in Israel have nothing to do with Russia and Putin's ideology.

The authors of the video, referring to a representative of the Norwegian Military Academy, Trygve Smidt, explained that such symbols are used to indicate a certain unit or a company. For example, the V symbol, drawn in four different directions, is interpreted in difference ways. In addition, markings on vehicles can carry various information, including the fact that a commander is in a particular vehicle, and they can be changed so that the enemy cannot identify their meaning, the news report says.

There are many photos of Israeli equipment with markings similar to Russian ones that appeared on the Internet long before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian propaganda tried to pass its own burned-out tank off as a Ukrainian one.
