Car and bus collide in Kharkiv region, 18 people injured

On Tuesday, a traffic accident occurred in the Kharkiv region, leaving 18 people injured, including a minor.

This was reported on Facebook by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, according to Ukrinform.

"The driver of a Kia Sorento traveling in the direction of the city of Merefa lost control of the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter passenger bus. Eighteen people aged 17 to 70 were injured in the collision, including bus passengers, a passenger in the Kia Sorento, and the drivers of both vehicles," the report said.

According to the police, three women were given the necessary medical assistance at the scene of the accident, while the other victims were hospitalized.

Investigators opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 (violation of traffic safety rules or transport operation rules by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code.

As reported, on January 1, in the Odesa region, a car crashed into a concrete pillar, killing three people.
