Car explosion in New Delhi center leaves eight dead, 24 injured

At least eight people were killed and 24 sustained injuries following a car explosion in the center of the Indian capital near the Red Fort metro station.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by The Times of India.

According to medical officials, eight people died on the way to the hospital.

The explosion triggered a fire that damaged nearby vehicles. Seven fire brigades arrived at the scene.

The cause of the explosion has not yet been established.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already been briefed on the explosion, which occurred on the evening of Monday, 10 November.

Police in all districts of the neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh were alerted.

As reported by Ukrinform, on 7 November, an explosion occurred during prayer at a mosque in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia; dozens of people were injured.
