Severe weather claims nine lives in Odesa

In Odesa and the surrounding district, nine people have died due to severe weather, including a child.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Telegram by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).

“All night, rescuers helped evacuate people from water traps, removed vehicles, pumped water from buildings, and searched for a missing girl, who was found at 7:00,” the SES stated.

A psychologist was present at the search site.

In total, 362 people were rescued and 227 vehicles evacuated.

The operation involved 255 rescuers and 68 units of equipment; work is ongoing.

As Ukrinform reported, on September 30, heavy rainfall caused flooding of roads and passages in Odesa and Odesa district.
