Explosion reported in city center, rescuers confirm it was car fire

Rescuers did not receive information about an alleged explosion in the center of Kyiv.

This was reported to Ukrinform by the press service of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv.

“We had no information about an explosion, a fire in a car has already been extinguished, it was just a fire. Preliminarily, there are no victims. We do not know the cause. The National Police is currently establishing the cause, they are currently at the scene,” the rescuers said.

The press service informed that the car fire was extinguished in the Holosiivskyi district of the city, and the report of the fire on Antonovycha Street was received at 10:08 a.m.

According to the State Emergency Service, a Nissan car caught fire in the yard of a six-story residential building, and the fire was extinguished at 10:30 a.m.

Earlier, social media reported that an explosion had allegedly occurred in the center of the capital on Monday and that smoke was allegedly billowing at the scene.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the official and his wife were injured in a car explosion in Dnipropetrovsk region. The man later died.
