Rescuers have safely pulled back to the surface from a mine in Dnipropetrovsk region 135 miners trapped over 1,300 meters underground over a technical accident.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service, Ukrinform saw.

"A total of 135 miners were trapped more than 1,300 meters deep due to an accident at a mine substation in Dnipropetrovsk region. Thanks to the joint work of rescuers, enterprise staff, and other units of the State Emergency Service, the accident was eliminated," the report says.

It is noted that the rescue effort required the use of a complex technology for creating an artificial load on the mine cage, which allowed workers to be safely lifted back to the surface.
