Ukraine official says there was fire at Interior Ministry building near Kyiv, injuries reported

Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko has said that people were injured by a fire at a warehouse at the Interior Ministry's State Scientific Research Forensic Center near Kyiv on Saturday, August 19.

He announced this on his Telegram channel, Ukrinform reports.

"A fire broke out at a warehouse on the territory of the State Scientific Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs," the minister said.

According to Klymenko, the cause behind the fire is being clarified.

"That was definitely not a hit. There are injured employees of the expert service," he said.

The Ukrainian Interior Ministry's State Scientific Research Forensic Center is located in the village of Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, Kyiv region.

Earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported a fire caused by explosions in the area of the city's Kiltseva Road.
