Shevchenko secures Milan win in Kaladze farewell match

KYIV, June 1 /UKRINFORM/. A farewell match of Kakha Kaladze took place in Tbilisi on Friday, May 31. The Friends 4 Kaladze lost to AC Milan 1-3 with goals from Andriy Shevchenko (skipper), Filipo Inzagi and Pietro Vierchowod. George Demetradze scored for the Friends 4 Kaladze.

According to milannews.it, playing against the visiting AC Milan side was the team known as Friends 4 Kaladze consisting of Kakha Kaladze's former playmates in the Georgian national squads and the Ukrainian Dynamo Kyiv club: Zviad Sturua, Malkhaz Asatiani, Murtaz Shelia, Levan Kobiashvili, Andrey Husin, Umit Davala, Davit Mujiri, Levan Tskitishvili, Fabio Cannavaro, Hakan Sukur, Serhiy Rebrov, Achi Arveladze, George Demetradze, Alexander Iashvili, and George Kinkladze.

Such big AC Milan names as Paolo Maldini, Rui Costa, Sebastiano Rossi, Franco Baresi, Mathieu Flamini, Dario Simic, Serginho and Valerio Fiori also played in the farewell match.

A reminder that Kaladze played at such clubs as FC Dynamo Kyiv, AC Milan and finished his football career at the Italian Genoa. Kaladze is the only Georgian footballer who won the Champions League twice. He also has four victories in Georgian league, three - in the Ukrainian league, one - in the Italian Serie A. For the national team Kaladze made 83 appearances scoring one goal. Four times he was voted the best player in the country.

Now Kaladze serves as Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.
