Blokhin faces tough struggle for second place in Ukraine Premier League
KYIV, January 15 /UKRINFORM/. FC Dynamo Kyiv coach Oleh Blokhin is preparing for uneasy battle for the second place in the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL). For Dynamo's major rivals in a struggle for the silver medals FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and FC Metalist Kharkiv look this season very well, the Kyiv side's coach told Sport-Express in Ukraine in an interview, published on Dynamo's official website.
"Frankly speaking, we need to concentrate all power on the struggle for the second place. By the way, this also will not be easy: Dnipro and Metalist are in good condition, the teams in Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv were formed long ago, and we are only in the process of building a mission-capable team,” said Blokhin.
Now, in the standings Dynamo are third with 37 points, 14 points behind FC Shakhtar Donetsk, and a point behind Dnipro. Metalist go fourth (36 points). According to Blokhin, today this situation reflects the real state of affairs in the Premier League, and the Dynamo side can no longer dream of the fight for the gold.
A reminder that on January 14 Dynamo left for their first in the new year training camp in Spain. They will stay here for 12 days and during this time Blokhin's team will take part in four control meetings. In the first match after the winter break in the season 2012-2013, Dynamo will play on February 14 against the French Bordeaux in UEFA Europa League. A national league season will kick off for Dynamo on March 2 in a game against FC Kryvbas Kryviy Rih.
