Fires break out at oil loading station, science park, and Sheremetyevo Airport in the Moscow region following drone attack

As a result of a drone attack in the Moscow region of the Russian Federation, the Solnechnogorsk oil loading station caught fire, and the Technopark Elma-Zelenograd is on fire.

On the night of May 17, residents of the village of Durikino in the Moscow region reported an explosion and a fire. Footage from eyewitnesses, analyzed by Astra, indicates that the Solnechnogorsk oil terminal was hit.

The Solnechnogorsk loading station is a large fuel-loading facility in the Moscow region, part of the system of main petroleum product pipelines around the Russian capital. It is used for the storage, transfer, and shipment of gasoline and diesel fuel. It is located near the village of Durikino and has numerous fuel storage tanks.

According to Astra, residents of Moscow and the region reported numerous explosions. Fires broke out in Zelenograd, one of which occurred at the local Technopark Elma-Zelenograd.

It is noted that the facility had previously been attacked in May 2025.

According to the science park’s website, its main areas of activity include the production of electronic equipment, control and measuring instruments, optical equipment, processing various materials, research and development, the information technology sector, and consumer goods.

It is reported that the science park is home to over 150 resident companies and covers a total area of 60,000 square meters.

Astra also reports that a fire broke out at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport following a drone attack.

It is currently unknown exactly what is burning, but airport officials have confirmed the “fall of UAV debris.”

It is noted that there is no threat to “passenger and aircraft service areas.”

As reported by Ukrinform, explosions were heard in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol region, on the night of May 15, and a fire broke out at the Azot chemical plant. Regional authorities reported a drone attack.
