Police open 17 proceedings on violations related to electoral process – Interior Ministry

The police have already opened 17 criminal proceedings on violations related to the electoral process during the presidential election in Ukraine on March 31, the press service of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry has reported on its Facebook page.

According to the report, as of 17:00 police received 1,365 applications and reports related to the electoral process, most of them in Kyiv - 186, Dnipropetrovsk region - 196, Odesa region - 147, Kharkiv region - 129, Donetsk region - 100, Poltava region - 65, and Sumy region - 64.

"The above facts are mostly related to illegal campaigning (102), photographing of ballot papers (86), voter bribing (29), damage to the ballot (22), fake bomb threats (15), and attempts to bring a ballot paper out of a polling station (8). Seventeen criminal proceedings have been initiated on the basis of these facts," the Interior Ministry said.

The report notes that the police also compiled nine administrative protocols.

The presidential election is underway in Ukraine on March 31.
