Fuel prices and supplies: PM Svyrydenko meets with representatives of largest gas station chains

Svyrydenko emphasized that the main goal is to ensure fuel supplies for all consumers. At the same time, the uninterrupted supply of fuel to the Armed Forces, emergency services, and agricultural producers remains an absolute priority in connection with the start of the planting season.
During the meeting, representatives of the largest gas station chains briefed government officials on fuel reserves and foreign shipments scheduled for April. Svyrydenko assured them that the market has sufficient supplies and that the surge in demand is subsiding.

“I have instructed the leadership of the Antimonopoly Committee and the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection to continue monitoring price levels on the Ukrainian market and to respond as necessary if violations are detected, without hindering business operations,” Svyrydenko said.
According to her, JSC “Ukrnafta” continues to set benchmark prices for gasoline and diesel for the market, taking into account global developments stemming from the situation in the Middle East.
Svyrydenko also noted that the government is preparing new targeted programs to support people amid rising global oil prices. This includes a one-time payment of 1,500 UAH for the most vulnerable groups of citizens and fuel cashback under the “National Cashback” program.

As reported, on Monday, March 16, the average price of A-95 gasoline rose by 17 kopecks to 69.31 UAH/liter, while diesel fuel rose by 1 UAH 85 kopecks to 76.76 UAH/liter.
According to First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine has imported nearly 250,000 tons of fuel since the beginning of March. Most fuel supply contracts are currently being fulfilled, with imports coming from more than 10 countries.
