Zakarpattia community attracts over UAH 10B in investment over four years of Russia's full-scale war
Pavlo Logvinov, head of the U-LEAD with Europe office in the Zakarpattia region, said this in a comment to Ukrinform.
According to him, this is the highest figure not only in the region but across the entire country.
"The advantages of this community are its logistical attractiveness and its border location – just 11 km from the Hungarian border. The town of Batiovo also has one of the largest railway hubs in Ukraine. This makes it possible to transship goods from Ukraine's rail gauge to the European one, which is critically important for exports under conditions of blocked ports," Logvinov said.
He added that this success is also driven by effective governance: local authorities were able to quickly offer ready-made sites and infrastructure for businesses that relocated or were looking for new export routes.
Dmytro Taranenko, head of the Batiovo community, added that these funds are real investments that have already been received and retained in the community.
"Construction is currently underway and not all facilities have been launched yet, so the investments are not fully felt at this stage. However, we can already say that this is a solid foundation for a good future for our community. The greatest value is people. When people see that money stays in the country, taxes are paid, and investments are made in infrastructure, they want to live and work here," Taranenko added.
