President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the situation with heating is the most challenging in Kyiv right now.

He said this in his evening address, Ukrinform reports.

“The situation is most difficult in Kyiv right now, primarily with heating, and there are also major electricity problems. Crews from many of our regions, practically from all over the country, have been brought in to assist Kyiv, including from frontline areas, ready to help,” Zelensky said.

He expressed gratitude to Ukrzaliznytsia, other state-owned companies, and the private sector for supporting people. “The Ministry of Internal Affairs is providing hot meals in Kyiv districts where this is needed. Just in the past 24 hours, 6,200 people in Kyiv and 22,000 people in the Kyiv region received hot meals. We are ready to scale up this assistance if necessary,” the President said.

Zelensky noted that he expects reports on all instructions related to cooperation with partners that had been issued earlier. “Equipment should have been sourced and procured well before this winter, and Kyiv city authorities must act much faster now to make life easier for people, at least in February, especially since everyone in the government is ready to help,” he emphasized.
