Ukraine, Greece seal gas deal to boost winter energy security
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
“Our agreements with Greece today are an important part of the large energy package we have prepared for this winter to ensure gas supplies to Ukraine. I want to thank you once again, my dear friend. I thank your team and the companies for making this possible,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
It is noted that the document was signed by Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi and CEO of the Greek state company DEPA Commercial Konstantinos Xifaras.

Under the upcoming agreement, the transportation of gas to Ukraine will be carried out via a route jointly supported by the gas transmission system operators of five European countries.
The President and the Prime Minister also discussed long-term arrangements for receiving natural gas from the United States via Greece.
As reported by Ukrinform, in his morning address today Zelensky stated that the gas agreement with Greece for Ukraine has already been prepared. He noted that this would create another gas supply route to maximize the security of Ukraine’s winter gas import pathways.

In addition, the President assured that agreements on financing gas imports have already been reached. According to him, the Ukrainian government has allocated funds for import financing; European banks are helping with guarantees from the European Commission, as well as Norway, and active work continues with American partners. Full financing will be secured, Zelensky assured.
