Denmark will provide EUR 130 million in state guarantees for its companies that would be ready to invest in the Ukrainian defense industrial complex.

This was reported on Facebook by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko, Ukrinform reports.

"The Danish government has announced the introduction of a new state guarantee, under which the government, through the Danish Export and Ivestment Fund (Danmarks Eksport- og Investeringsfond), will cover a total of DKK 1 billion (EUR 130 million), or up to 70% of investments, by Danish companies in Ukrainian defense companies," Svyrydenko noted.

According to the deputy prime minister, Denmark is thus reducing investment risks for their businesses that will invest in Ukraine’s defense industry. Danish manufacturers gain a unique opportunity to benefit off Ukrainian experience, implement innovative solutions, and test weapons on an actual battlefield.

She also noted that Danish companies are already well versed on EIFO’s work, since this financial instrument is actively utilized to support both Danish and Ukrainian businesses, including through guarantees for providing export credits, direct loans, and attracting investment capital. Currently, the scope of this mechanism has been expanded to cover the defense industrial complex.
