Ukraine and Denmark discuss financing and speed of defense production

“The capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry have reached USD 35 billion a year, and rapid investment will help to maximize their use. Given the threats from the Russian Federation, we do not have time for long deliberations,” Boyev emphasized.

As noted, the delegation of the Ministry of Defense of Denmark, headed by Deputy Head of the Group for Ukraine, Captain 1st Rank Dennis Virkelist, got acquainted with the proposals of the Ukrainian side and the list of Ukrainian defense industry products.

In particular, the parties discussed the possibility of directing contributions to Ukrainian companies under the Danish model, as well as financing production through the use of interest from frozen Russian assets.

The Ukrainian and Danish sides also considered the issue of the production cycle and delivery period - how quickly defense products can reach the military after Ukrainian companies receive investments.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Deputy Defense Minister Serhiy Boyev and participants of the NATO Political Committee meeting discussed strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities as a key to sustainable peace.
