Economy Ministry planning to increase capitalization of Export Credit Agency by UAH 5B
Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka said this in an exclusive commentary to Ukrinform.
“The Export Credit Agency plays a pivotal role in the financial and manufacturing sectors by providing the necessary financing for producers. To further strengthen this strategically important institution, it is essential to increase its capitalization. We have set a target of UAH 5 billion to boost the agency's capital,” Kachka said.
He noted that the possibility of receiving these funds depends on the state budget's capabilities. Concurrently, the Ministry of Economy is exploring alternative financing options.
"We have ideas for a direct increase, both in terms of attracting donor funds and, perhaps even in the medium term, an investor - a foreign export credit agency - to enter the country,” Kachka said.
While the process of raising an additional UAH 5 billion will require time, the Ministry has already developed several scenarios for implementing this project and is actively working on their realization.
As a reminder, PJSC Export Credit Agency works to support Ukrainian exporters by providing financial instruments and guarantees to enter international markets.
