Japan interested in importing Ukrainian agricultural products for restaurants
This issue was discussed during a meeting between Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitalii Koval, and representatives of Japanese companies Zensho and Maekawa, as well as the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Ukrinform reports, citing the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
"Zensho operates 15,000 restaurants worldwide, 10,000 of which are in Europe. They are particularly interested in our agricultural products, especially vegetables such as potatoes, cabbage, and onions," Koval said.
The minister also noted that cooperation between the two countries could extend to food technologies, livestock farming, rice cultivation, and dairy production.
According to Koval, the partnership is not limited to exporting agricultural goods to Japan; it also includes the potential establishment of a processing plant in Ukraine for producing udon and ramen.
Previously, Ukraine proposed that JICA support projects focused on industrial cooperation, joint ventures, equipment and spare parts supply, and the restoration of damaged industrial facilities.
