Emergency blackouts in place in eight Ukrainian regions

On the morning of February 7, emergency power outages are applied in eight regions. As of 8:40, consumption restrictions apply to industrial consumers only.

This was reported by Ukrenergo, the national operator of Ukraine’s power grid, Ukrinform reports.

"Today, February 7, we were forced to apply emergency power outages in Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and Cherkasy (partially) regions," the report says.

At the same time, it is noted that currently, the restrictions do not apply to household consumers (with the exception of emergency situations in regional grids).

The rolling outages are caused by Russia’s missile and drone attacks on power generation and transmission infrastructure.

As reported, an increase in electricity consumption was recorded on the morning of February 6. Thus, as of 9:00, its level was 1.3% higher against Wednesday, February 5.
