NBU transfers over UAH 5.4B for defense needs in Jan

Since the start of the full-scale war, almost UAH 43.4 billion from the special account opened by the National Bank of Ukraine has been allocated for defense needs, including UAH 5.4 billion in January 2025.
This was reported by the NBU press service, Ukrinform saw.
As of February 1, 2025, the balance in the special account, which the National Bank opened to support the defense forces on February 24, 2022, has stood at over UAH 18.3 billion. Over the past month, more than UAH 11.7 billion has been put in the special account.
In total, since the outset of the full-scale invasion, over UAH 61.8 billion in equivalent has been transferred to the special account. Almost UAH 43.4 billion has already been donated for defense, including over UAH 5.4 billion in Jan 2025.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, in 2024, over UAH 5.9 billion was transferred for defense needs from the NBU’s special account.
