There has been no electricity shortage in Ukraine’s energy system so far. The generating capacity of Ukrainian power plants is enough to meet the consumer needs, although some imports have been scheduled to take place during the day.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Energy Ministry on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Today, some electricity imports are expected to take place, totaling up to 2 megawatt-hours. No exports have been scheduled,” the report states.

On the morning of January 7, 2024, Ukraine’s energy system was balanced. One of thermal power plant units resumed operation after emergency maintenance.

At the same time, the ministry urged household consumers to use electricity reasonably, in particular reduce the load at peak hours.

Meanwhile, according to the data from the ministry, following Russian shelling, two mines were left without electricity in the Donetsk region. Eighteen workers were reported to have been there as the power supply interrupted.

An explosive object and missile fragments were discovered near an oil pipeline in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Relevant services are working at the scene.

Due to hostilities, equipment was damaged at a thermal power plant in the Donetsk region.

Additionally, following Russian attacks, overhead power line PL 110 was cut off in the Kharkiv region. Household consumers were left without electricity.
