The Ukrainian Digital Transformation Ministry is planning to contribute to conducting the post-war national census and use the data from registers to simplify the procedure.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development - Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“After our victory, it will be necessary to accurately conduct a population census. But, we have completely rethought the approach to this. We understand that a lot of information can be obtained thanks to verification in the registers, so as not to bother our citizens and not to ask about something that can already be seen thanks to the depersonalized synchronization of certain registers,” Fedorov told.

In his words, the Ukrainian Digital Transformation Ministry is also planning to involve Apple in conducting the national census.

“It will be one of the most advanced and innovative censuses in the world,” Fedorov added.

A reminder that Ukraine’s national census was expected to be conducted in 2023 but will now take place after the war ends.
