Ukraine’s metallurgical production cut by 79.3% in Jan-Feb 2023

In January-February 2023, Ukraine’s metallurgical production output reduced by 79.3% compared to the same period last year.

The relevant data were published by Ukrmetalurgprom Association of Enterprises, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In particular, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises produced 0.71 million tonnes of steel in January-February 2023, which is 20.7% of last year’s steel production volumes during the same period.

The production output of pig iron came to 0.74 million tonnes (22.4% compared to January-February 2022).

Additionally, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises produced 0.59 million tonnes of rolled metal in January-February 2023, which is 79.9% lower compared to the same period last year.

A reminder that Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises produced 6.26 million tonnes of steel in 2022, which is 70.7% lower compared to 2021.
