Ukraine initiates denunciation of merchant shipping agreement with Syria

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a draft law on the termination of the agreement on merchant shipping between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic.
According to Ukrinform, the government's permanent representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, said this in a Telegram post.
"The draft law 'On the termination of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic on merchant shipping' has been approved," the report said.
The document provides for the termination of the merchant shipping agreement with Syria, which was concluded in Kyiv on June 5, 2003.
On March 7, the Cabinet of Ministers also approved a draft law terminating the agreement with Russia on the joint control of persons, vehicles and goods on the Ukrainian-Russian border.
