EUR 5 billion in macro-financial aid from the European Union will arrive in Ukraine in mid-October.

This was stated by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who spoke with journalists in Kyiv alongside President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We have been discussing of course the budget support, the so-called macro-financial assistance. I am very glad that today the European Parliament now has voted positively on the 5 billion loans. And we are working on the rest of macro-financial assistance. The 5 billion can be disbursed in the first tranche mid-October. So there is a clear path that we have discussed together," said the European Commission President.
