Turkey's Baykar Makina has already set up its own company in Ukraine, purchased a plot of land, developed a project for a Bayraktar UAV production plant, and intends to implement the project in Ukraine.

Ukraine's Ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar said this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

"The plant [for the production of Bayraktar UAVs] will be built. A week ago, the government approved a bilateral agreement and sent it to the parliament for ratification - the agreement on the construction of the plant itself," Bodnar said.

The diplomat noted that Baykar Makina had set up its company in Ukraine, a land plot had already been purchased, and the project of the plant itself, which they intend to implement, had been developed.

"A significant part of the models that will be produced at this plant will have Ukrainian-made components. These can be engines, other spare parts, wheels, many different things that are high-tech in our country and can be used for these aircraft," Bodnar said.

As for reports spread earlier about possible cooperation for the production of Bayraktars with Russia, Bodnar said that Baykar Makina does not have such plans and it is difficult for them to even imagine it.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier said that Putin offered him cooperation in the production of drones by Baykar Makina.
