Another UAH 500M allocated for coal miners’ salaries

On Thursday, December 30, SE Ukrvuhillia transferred an additional UAH 500 million to cover wage arrears to employees of state mines.

That’s according to the Ministry of Energy, Ukrinform reports.

"Ukrvuhillia has transferred UAH 500 million to state-owned coal mining companies to pay salaries to miners.

This is the second such tranche this week, the statement notes.

As reported earlier, on December 29, UAH 300 million was transferred to the accounts of state-owned coal mining companies to pay salaries to miners. In addition, on December 24, state-owned mines received UAH 92 million for salary payments thanks to budget savings by the Ministry of Energy and the corresponding redistribution of expenditures from other government-funded programs.

On December 16, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill on amendments to the 2021 state budget to cover wage arrears to employees of state-owned coal mining companies, which provides for the allocation of an additional UAH 2.4 billion.
