Government borrowings to budget’s general fund amounted to UAH 478.8B this year

In January-November 2021, actual government borrowings to the general fund of the state budget amounted to UAH 478.8 billion, Ukrinform reports, referring to the Finance Ministry’s press service.

“Actual state borrowings to the general fund of the state budget for January-November 2021 amounted to UAH 478.8 billion or 78.2% of those planned for this period,” reads the report.

According to the data provided by the ministry, UAH 313.3 billion was raised to finance the state budget from the placement of domestic government bonds, including UAH 85.6 billion in foreign currency (USD 2.5 billion and EUR 583.7 million).

From external sources, UAH 143.7 billion was attracted over the reporting period. At the same time, UAH 412.3 billion was paid to repay public debt (96.4% of the target) and UAH 142.4 billion was paid to service public debt (96.4% of the target).

As Ukrinform reported, on September 29, 2021, the Finance Ministry repaid U.S. guaranteed foreign government bonds worth $1 billion.
