Ukraine’s electricity imports grew by 51.9% last week - Ukrenergo

Ukraine’s electricity exports increased by 59.7% to 49.7 million kWh last week, compared with the week of November 15-21, imports grew by 51.9% to 77.3 million kWh, Ukrinform reports, referring to the press service of NPC Ukrenergo.

"The total electricity exports amounted to 49.7 million kWh on November 22-28, which is 59.7% more than the previous week (November 15-21) [...] Electricity imports on November 22-28 amounted to 77.3 million kWh, which is 51.9% more than the previous week,” reads the report.

Thus, exports from Ukraine’s integrated energy system was carried out only to Moldova and amounted to 0.3 million kWh. At the same time, electricity exports from the Burshtyn Thermal Power Plant (TPP) Energy Island rose in all directions. Most volumes were exported to Hungary - 30.8 million kWh (up 63.8% from the previous week). Another 4 million kWh was exported to Slovakia (up 25%) and 14.9 million kWh - to Romania (up 60.2%).

Last week, electricity imports from Belarus came to 75.5 million kWh, which is 89.7% more than on November 15-21. At the same time, from 01:00 on November 18 to 01:00 on November 21, there was no electricity supplies from this country.

Imports from Slovakia to the Burshtyn TPP Energy Island decreased 6.2 times to 1.8 million kWh. There were no electricity imports from Russia.

As reported, in October 2021, electricity exports decreased by 19% compared to September 2021 and amounted to 246.6 million kWh. There were no electricity imports in October 2021.
