Cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey in the field of space exploration will open up many opportunities for both countries.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleh Urusky wrote about this on his Facebook page following a meeting with Head of the Space Agency of Turkey Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım, which took place within the IDEF 2021 International Defense Industry Fair in Turkey, Ukrinform reports.

“We discussed opportunities for cooperation in the creation of space carriers and components, monitoring of outer space and remote sensing of the Earth, creation of platforms for satellites, sharing of ground space infrastructure, production of delivery vehicles under the Lunar Program and many other issues," he wrote.

According to Urusky, he informed the interlocutor that Ukraine is finalizing the approval of the State Scientific and Technical Space Program, which envisages many potential areas for possible Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation.

He also added that the reform process is underway in Ukraine and a Rocket and Space Holding will be soon established, which will include key enterprises in the space industry, including the corporatized Pivdenne Design Bureau and the Pivdenmash State Enterprise.

“Ukraine is open to a meaningful dialogue in order to find joint promising projects in the space sphere that will be of benefit both for Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey,” Urusky wrote.

For his part, Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım said he is confident that the Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation in this area will soon yield certain results.
