The government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Servant of the People MP Vasyl Mokan, reported this on Facebook.

"The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a draft resolution 'On the approval of the state program for cross-border cooperation for 2021-2027.' The adoption of the document will help increase the competitiveness of Ukraine's border regions by establishing good neighborly relations with neighboring countries, solving common problems of socio-economic development and implementing cross-border cooperation projects," Mokan wrote.

He also added that the government had adopted a resolution introducing amendments to the list of settlements being granted the status of mountain settlements. It proposes to set out the new wording of the list indicating the territorial communities and districts, which include the relevant settlements under the new administrative territorial system of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, there are now 714 mountain settlements in Ukraine, which are located in 86 territorial communities and are part of 16 districts in four regions. In particular, for them, the amount of state pensions, scholarships, and all types of state material assistance is increased by 20%, whereas tariff rates and salaries of employees are raised by 25%.
