Ukraine planning to export 23.5M tonnes of corn in current MY

Ukraine is planning to export 17.5 million tonnes of wheat and 23.5 million tonnes of corn in the 2020/2021 marketing year (MY), Ukrinform reports with reference to the Ministry for Economy, Trade and Agriculture Development.

In total, in the current MY, Ukraine intends to export 45.7 million tonnes of grain, including 17.5 million tonnes of wheat and 23.5 million tonnes of corn. At the same time, according to the annex to the Memorandum on coordination of positions between grain market participants for the 2020/2021 MY, the maximum volumes of wheat exports are set at 17.5 million tonnes, corn exports at 24 million tonnes.

According to the State Fiscal Service, in the current MY (from July 1, 2020) to March 29, 2021, Ukraine exported 34.8 million tonnes of grain and legumes, including 14.5 million tonnes of wheat, 15.9 million tonnes of corn and 4.08 million tonnes of barley.

As reported by Ukrinform, in 2020, Ukrainian famers harvested 83.8 million tonnes of main crops from an area of 24.1 million hectares. In particular, 65.4 million tonnes of grain and legumes were threshed from an area of 15.3 million hectares.
