Senik meets with Qatari partners to discuss Olvia Port concession

Senik got acquainted with the state-of-the-art infrastructure and technical capabilities of Hamad Port, which is one of the largest ports in the Middle East and the Gulf region.
"The deputy minister held a meeting with the management of Hamad Port, as well as negotiations with the top management of the Qatari companies Milaha and QTerminals. The parties discussed the implementation of the agreement between the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Qatari company QTerminals on the concession of Ukraine’s Olvia Port (Mykolaiv)," the report reads.
Senik invited Qatari partners to visit Ukraine to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral investment cooperation in the area of infrastructure.
As reported, on August 20, 2020, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the State Enterprise Administration of Seaports of Ukraine and the Qatari company QTerminals signed an agreement on the transfer of Olvia Port into concession to Qatar’s QTerminals.
The Qatari company is committed to invest UAH 3.4 billion over the next five years into the development of the Ukrainian port and its infrastructure. The implementation of this project in Olvia Port will be the largest foreign direct investment in the port industry of Ukraine since 1991.
